After 11 years of competitive tournament golf this sport has taught me life lessons like perseverance, responsibility and sportsmanship. I have played golf since I was 4 and have had the goal of playing college golf for a long time. My goals while playing college golf are to be the best I can be for me and also my team. I want to continue to balance this sport and academics as I have been doing since a very young age. Wanting to explore the possibilities of being a pro with the LPGA has been important to me as well. I strive for a consistent strong game every day.
I was privileged to have an amazing first 3 years on the Varsity team of the Laney Buccaneers winning our conference and going to Regionals and States. Winning our 5th Conference Championship in a row in 2019. My coach honored me with the 2017-2018 Rookie of the Year Award and 2019-2020 Most Valuable Player for Women's Golf. I was also honored as a Scholar- Athlete from the NCHSAA. My team received recognition as well from the NCHSAA. The Star News also honored me as an All Star Preps "Best of Star News Varsity" Girls Golf First Team. We also placed 3rd in Regionals Sophomore year after a challenging season during Hurricane Florence in 2018 and qualified for States. I qualified for States and placed 10th in 2019 as well. I was named to the N.C Girls' All-State Team (Second Team) by TYGA and CGA for my 2019 and 2020 Season.
I would be an asset to a college team because I never give up. I always dig in. I take advice well and quickly use it in my game. I enjoy working with a team on one common goal, as well as, working on individual goals. I'm looking for a golf program that has a powerful devoted team, plays competitive tournaments and is strong academically.
I'm looking for a coach that is tough, but supportive, relatable and is easy to learn from. My strengths include short game, consistency, competitiveness and passion. I continue to develop and improve all aspects of my skills. Playing, practice drills, strategy and course management are key to my success.
