I grew up in Warwick, New York always known as the girl who does gymnastics. I was the only one in my town that competed for the gym I trained at. Through ten straining years of concentration and hard work leaning towards perfection came an injury. Getting hurt brought me to a sport that fits me best: diving. My goal as a first-year diver was just to qualify for sections. As I reached out and found a club team to practice with right away, I was capable of qualifying for the New York State Championships and coming in tenth overall my second year diving. This accomplishment has given me the confidence to fight for first next year.
I have been diving for two years now, and have learned a lot about myself as a student-athlete and what I am capable of doing with much practice aside from my high school season. I have been fortunate enough to find a club team that I love diving with year-round at West Point Military Academy. I am growing to learn the value of leadership and commitment on a different level than gymnastics has taught me as I put in hours of diving each week to better my skills to compete in AAU meets during the off-season. My academic high school goal is to get above an 100 overall weighted average for my junior year. My academic college goal is to find a school that fits me well both academically and athletically. I would love to find a team that I fit in with, and an excellent coach with a broad vision. I love meeting and working together with other people, and feel that I could contribute a lot of my background to a college team, while acquiring a lot from them as well.
