After 5 years of doing gymnastics and transitioning to diving, I have noticed a change in attitude towards my goals as a collegiate athlete. I not only want to compete in college diving, I want to keep improving. I am also looking for a distinguished diving program inside a college that has renown academics that could help fulfill a childhood dream of becoming a doctor.
I know that it is a very ambitious dream to be both a diver and a pre med student, but in my heart I know I am capable of it. On a daily basis, I handle my daily challenges head on, setting goals and always trying to step out of my comfort zone, pushing myself to my limits. I use my time management skills to my advantage, making my days productive and tasks effective.
As a student-athlete, I believe I have reached a maturity point where I can handle both academics and diving, separating the two. While at school, I focus only on my school work. This allows me to be diligent with my assignments and complete them to the best of my abilities. While at diving practice, I focus only on diving. This allows me to practice my best and stay concentrated during practice. I have learned to separate the two in order to excel in both.
