I started wrestling in 8th grade and fell in love with the sport. I enjoy going to wrestling practice and learning new techniques and having the opportunity to apply it when I go live. I am a hard worker who is always looking for an opportunity to face tougher opponents and I actively seek out more advanced wrestlers (male or female) to practice with. I would say I am more of a lead by example kind of person - when I set a goal, I focus all of my energy on that goal. I recognize that helping others improve helps me improve and ultimately builds a stronger team.
My freshman year I placed first at District and 3rd at Region. The next week I fought my way through the bracket to earn 2nd place at State becoming the youngest state placer in Lovejoy’s Wrestling program history. The next year, I made it my goal to win state. I started to hit up extra wrestling practices, and did weights and cardio outside of practice because I didn't want to leave anything to chance. I was the District, Regional, and State Champion my sophomore year, making me the youngest State Champion in Lovejoy’s Wrestling program history.
I am not only a wrestler, I participate in cross country, track (300m hurdles and 4x400) and field (pole vault) and lettered in all 3 sports my freshman year. I also play midfield in lacrosse which is a club sport in Texas. I am also a member of the National Honors Society.
On my free weekends, my family and I like to ride our dirt bikes at hare scrambles and enduros. When I’m not competing or riding, I enjoy working in my dad’s workshop. Most recently we restored a 1992 Ford Bronco for me to drive (it’s a manual transmission!) and we’ve started work on an AC Cobra kit car. I also enjoy cooking and baking. I love trying new recipes and then tweaking them to make them my own.
