They say that golf is the hardest sport of all time because of the mental aspect about the game of golf, and they are absolutely right. What I love about the sport is how competitive I can be and the respect and honor that the game demands. In my opinion, goals are an essential part in making sure you improve to be the best player you can be. I do not want to look back on my golf career thinking “I should have practiced more” or “I wish I could have been better”. My goals in golf include: improving to meet my greatest potential, gaining as much golf training as I can through my high school years and getting the opportunity to play golf at the college level. Independence is an aspect of the game that I have loved about it. When I wanted to play golf in high school, my freshman year I had to make my own team in order to compete. I am currently the only member of the Armstrong High School golf team and I have learned how to grow within my golf game.
Academics and school involvement has always been a priority for me. I have always strived to remain on Honor Roll, enrolled in honors classes and National Honor Society through my high school career despite being involved in other activities. Besides golf I help out with the Varsity Girls Basketball team and the Varsity Girls softball team. Organizations also help me reach out in the community in a new way. FFA, Student Council, National Honor Society, Students Taking a New Direction and Yearbook; all help me see what is needed in our community and how I can best use my assets to help.
