Hi, my name is Katie Steinman. I’ve been playing golf and basketball since I was six years old. During high school, golf has become a passion as I have focused on continuous improvement in order to take my game to a higher level.
Most of my life I thought I would play basketball in college. I have been the starting point guard on our varsity high school team since my freshman year. After my first summer of competitive golf, however, it became my favorite sport.
As an individual and high school team, we’ve been able to participate in the Illinois High School Association 1A State Golf Finals each year.
As a freshman, I finished tied for 4th and we placed 8th as a team.
As a sophomore, I finished tied for 6th individually and won the team championship!
As a junior, I finished tied for 8th individually and we placed 4th as a team.
I continue to grow academically and athletically and I’m excited to build upon my high school success. I plan to continue working hard in all aspects of my personal game and becoming a stronger leader on the team.
I’m ready for all the challenges that lie ahead and excited for the years to come.
