I've been playing golf since May 2014. I had played basketball for 8 years till I decided to pick up golf. I worked hard from the start taking lessons, playing all day, and watching lessons online. Golf has now become my passion and I hope to be successful in college with it. I am very dedicated to my class work, and I am just as dedicated to golf. My dedication and determination have helped me excel to be the best that I can. My freshman year I was the top women golfer in my school. At that time I had an 18 hole average of 105. In my sophomore year I was still the top women golfer, but this year I got All-Conference and All-District; my average is down to 90. My junior year I was the top women golfer. I became the first golfer in Waynesville High school history to medal at every tournament. I once again was All-Conference First Team and All-District First Team. My average came down to an 86. During the summer I spend about 7-8 hours at the golf at least 4 days a week. Summer of 2016 I was the 16-18 SMJGA Girls Champion. I also played in 3 AJGA Qualifiers and 1 tournament.
My academics are a big deal to me. I hope to be an Engineer; I am unsure of what field. They are majors that take time, but I want a to go to a school that will be as much about my academics as they will my golf. I love the math and science fields. The challenge that come with engineering excites me. It is like the same challenge I get when playing golf. In March I was inducted into NHS with a 3.5 GPA, so many service hours, and so many leadership positions. Mainly through athletics and academics.
