Hi my name is Chloe Galvin, I'm a 5'3, 105 lb golfer. When I was younger, my brother and I would always go out in my field and hit golf balls together, and that's a memory that will forever stick with me. My brother decided to join the golf team 3 years ago, and that got me thinking that maybe I should join too. I noticed that there was no one my age on the team, and that I would also be the only girl, which would look good, especially for college. I joined the golf team 2 years ago , and I was the only girl. My school is small, and not a lot of girl show interest in golfing, so I had to play on the boys team, since we had no girls team. Since I had to play on the boys team, I also had to tee off from where the boys teed off from. My scores weren't the best since it was my first year. and I barely had played before that, but I improved majorly throughout the season. Last year (2020) I didn't play due to COVID. This year I rejoined the team, and my score has dropped a lot. I still play from the boys tee's and I play on the boys varsity team. My score this year for 9 holes started around 56 strokes, midway through the season, my score for 9 dropped to a 49 for 6 straight matches. By the end of the season I was averaging around 46-47 from the boys tee's. As much as I am focused on golf, I also take great pride in my academics. I always put my schoolwork before everything else. I had golf coach who has helped me a lot. Over the course of me playing, almost everyone that I have played with has said that I have an outstanding swing.
