Personal Statement

My goal is to find a college that has a great athletic and academic program.  Equally important is to motivate and inspire me to be an outstanding and moral person.  I am confident that my character and motivation will be an asset to any team and any school.   I am an extremely hard worker and a good teammate. I love to help and learn from others.  During my 4 years on the Varsity Golf team, I recruited new golfers and organized informal practices. Many of these girls were new to the sport so I was able to apply my love of teaching to help them.  I was able to encourage them to love this sport after a few months of holding a club.  What makes me different is how I am willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.  I don't quit.  I feel it is important to learn new things constantly, as evidenced by my golf development.  Over the next two years, I feel consistency will drive me to success on the course through lower scores and superior sportsmanship.    I always try to learn something about the sport, whether it be the technical aspect of the game or my ability to manage emotions during a match.  With my goal of educating  others, as a teacher and golf coach,  I feel I can achieve satisfaction in life while improving the lives of others.  I will never forget my first experience on the range with my coach.  I swung my driver and popped the ball straight up.  After laughing, my coach jokingly whispered to me "new Golfer".   I was determined to succeed from that point forward.  Needless to say I have not popped the ball up since.....
