My name is Charlotte Santulin and I've played golf for as long as I can remember. Over the years, my love for the sport has grown stronger and it has become a very significant part of my life.
Golf has taught me many valuable life skills such as discipline, perseverance, and the importance of hard work. It has also helped me develop my leadership and teamwork skills, which I believe would make me a great asset to any college golf team.
In addition to my passion for golf, I am also committed to my academic studies. I understand the importance of maintaining a balance between my athletic and academic pursuits, and I work hard to excel in both areas. Although my high school does not offer golf as a sport, I am part of the Winged Foot Golf Club Junior Team and manage to practice and play daily.
On top of playing, I tie in my passion for golf with my love for helping others by volunteering at the First Tee of NY, an organization to help younger underprivileged kids develop their love for the game. I usually play nine holes with the kids and teach them all my different tricks and techniques in order to help them improve, and together we discuss life skills such as the importance of following the rules, respecting others, or working hard to achieve results. What I love about this is that I pursue my passion for golf, all while helping others in my community.
As I look ahead to my future, I am excited about the possibility of continuing my golf journey in college. I believe that being part of a college golf team would provide me with the opportunity to challenge myself both on and off the course, and to grow as an athlete, student, and person.
