I have been playing golf since I was 9 years old, but more competitively since age 12. I love to play golf and hope to continue playing on a college team. I think golf is a sport that pushes you to grow every day. I volunteered and participated with the First Tee of Greater Charlotte and truly believe the life skills that program teaches applies not only to golf but life. In volunteering with the program, I got to see children push through their golf frustrations and also talk with them about their goals for school, etc. This helped me grow and understand that golf is a work in process at all times. There will be good days and bad days that you just have to push through.
I have several goals between now and college and at the college level. My golf goals are to enter and be competitive in more regional/national tournaments. I didn't realize the importance of these tournaments for recruiting until recently. My goal is to try to play several tournaments this fall. Academically, I am a good student and am working toward several AP classes this year. I also participate in an academic team called Odyssey of the Mind. We made it to States this past year and hope to make it to Nationals this coming year. In college, I hope to play golf and work towards a degree in education. Ultimately my current goal is to be an elementary school teacher.
I am a team player and enjoy cheering on the team. I am a hard worker that likes to have a challenge and work toward a goal. I look forward to continuing improving my golf game, playing on a college team and working toward a degree in education.
