Personal Statement

"Golf is not a game of good shots; it's a game of bad shots" (Ben Hogan). This statement by Ben Hogan reflects not only my personality, but more importantly, my golf game. When I step onto the first tee, physically and mentally, I expect everything to go my way. When bad shots occur, I get down on myself and want to improve my score. Over the years, I have realized that my bad shots are what makes me become a better player, and are what gives me more motivation to par or birdie the next hole. From my summer leading into my freshman year to the end of my Junior High school year season, I have improved my average score by 20 strokes, and have produced a smooth, fluent swing. I have won many tournaments throughout Wisconsin, and have had the opportunity to represent Team Wisconsin in a tournament vs. Team Minnesota twice. To add on, I have been awarded All-State Honorable Mention and All State 2nd Team, All-Area First and Second Team, All-Conference First Team as well as MVP throughout 3 High School seasons. In addition, during the winter season of my junior year, I was able to travel throughout the country, to participate in some national tournaments; I am currently among the top 30 in the nation. The challenging courses, the friendships I make along the way, and the variety of shots I produce, are all part of the growth in the player I am today. McKenzie L Parks

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
