Hello, my name is Doria Lukasik- Drescher. I am from Tucson, Arizona. My passion for hockey started when I was six. My mother took me to see the Arizona Coyotes, Arizona's NHL team, play. My love for the game took off from there. I started to watch more hockey as I grew older. I also played street hockey with my older brother and neighbors in a concrete wash by my house. My passion for the sport grew to the point where I knew I had to get out and play for a real team. I joined a roller hockey team called the Jr. Wildcats, who are based in Tucson. I have been playing roller hockey for about one year now. I am starting to switch over to ice hockey. I will be playing for the Jr. Roadrunners team, also based in Tucson. When I play, I usually play in the right wing position. I try to motivate my team and be an inspiration by how hard I work. I strive to be the best out on the floor or the ice. I do skating 3 days a week, and puck handling drills 5 days a week. I attend Basis Oro Valley. They are a rigorous curriculum based school. At basis you are enrolled into Honors and AP classes, and by the time you are a freshman, you will have already completed the basic classes needed to graduate. I hope to become an Electrical Engineer when I go off to college. I am always motivated by my parents to work hard in school. I have many high GPA awards( 90% or higher) from my Middle School years. I have also received various community awards as well as student of the year awards. In addition to playing hockey, I also play the oboe. I have been playing the oboe for over six years now.
