I have been swimming since I was 5 years old when I was just so excited to get any ribbon for finishing a race. Now I am an experienced swimmer who has traveled all over the country competing in meets including Far Westerns, NCSA Age Group Swimming Championships, and Sectionals. Traveling with my teammates is something that enriches my swimming career and my relationships with some of my favorite people. I am very committed and passionate about the sport. I go to all 9 practices available to me every week and feel my day isn’t complete without some time in the pool. I always aim high in the goals I set for myself and put all of my effort into everything I do. It is important and exciting to pass on my passion for swimming to others, so I have volunteered as a helper coach for my team since I was 12, and became a Junior Coach during the summer of 2021.
Along with my commitment to swimming, I am also driven to best myself in academics. I attend BASIS Oro Valley, which is currently ranked as the 18th most challenging high school in the country and ranked 11th in STEM schools by US News. So far i have taken 13 AP's and since I have taken almost all of the AP's offered at my school, this year I am taking 4 capstone courses including Marine Biology, Fascism, Linear Algebra, and Spanish, along with being a TA and a college counseling class. I choose challenging classes because i love to learn and challenge myself. I am very good at staying organized and time management, so I balance all of this while still having free-time.
As I sit here and read all this, knowing it is true. I find myself having a hard time pushing "save" as I am a humble person who would rather uplift a teammate then have the spotlight on myself. I think I would be an asset to any team or college.
