Since I was a little kid, I have always loved playing hockey. My goal is to continue to play at the college level. As a hockey player, I have gained valuable life lessons such as how to move on from a hard loss and how to apply what I’ve learned to the next game. In 2020 my team won our third consecutive Class A State Championship in the Minnesota State High School Girls Hockey tournament. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork and the ability to be resilient in high-pressure situations. Winning state was a high point in my high school hockey career. In the 2020-2021 season, I was voted All Conference Honorable Mention. I will be a team Captain in the 2021-2022 season at Breck.
During the past off-seasons, I have participated in the CCM High-Performance 14,15, and 17 Spring Festivals, and the Girls 15 Minnesota Hockey Development Camp. I am currently a member of the Minnesota Jr. Whitecaps Team. Speed and a high hockey IQ are some of my strengths, which I have been complimented on by coaches throughout my hockey career. My other strengths include being able to collaborate with players with diverse playing styles and personalities.
My other achievements include being Trilingual. I speak English, Japanese, and Chinese. I was on the head of school's list and academic honors list for 5/6 past semesters at Breck School. I am a member of the Student Diversity Leader Council (SDLC) and the Student Diversity Inclusion Council (SDIC) at Breck. In December, I attended the National Student Diversity Leadership Conference virtually. I am also an accomplished violinist and play 1st violin for the Breck chamber players. While playing in Orchestra, I was a concertmaster twice. I am a 8-time recipient of the Superior Rating (highest score) for the National Federation of Music Contest. A college that best suits me will be an institution with a robust academic curriculum and a strong hockey program.
