My name is Emma Leute and I am in the class of 2022 at Lebanon High School. I consider myself a determined individual both on and off the ice, and I am always up for a challenge. I am looking for a college that will challenge me academically, while also offering a hockey opportunity where I can continue my growth as a player.
My hockey story is unlike many others, and although it has been the biggest challenge I have faced, it has also been my greatest journey and learning experience. I was 13 when I started playing. I played for one year on a development team before making the transition to high school, and playing for Lebanon my freshman year. The thrill I felt on the ice and desire to improve my skill was unmatched, and hockey soon became my passion. Ever since I decided to dedicate myself to hockey, I have put in the time and effort to improve my skill, even during off-seasons. Through summer camps, skating clinics and split season teams, I have been able to build and enhance my skill set to prepare for my hockey career beyond high school. My goal for hockey at the collegiate level is to find a team that will challenge me, and allow me to receive a higher level of coaching and instruction on the ice where I can continue to push myself and strengthen my skill set as a hockey player.
Academically, I have achieved honor roll every quarter of high school, and I strive to keep my grades as high as possible. I have successfully managed balancing a demanding hockey schedule, and a prestigious high school course load, which required determination and commitment. My goal is to continue to challenge myself academically through the rest of my time in high school. I plan to major in computer science at a college that will continue to push me as a learner.
Both athletically and academically, I have challenged myself more than I ever have throughout my past three years of high school, and I hope to challenge myself through pursuing a higher level of both academics and hockey opportunities in college.
