Hi, my name is Elle Garriock and I am a Canadian field and box lacrosse player.
I have grown up in the game and have developed a real love for the sport. I play on both a men’s box lacrosse team (captain) as well as on our provincial box team for women that just recently competed at the Canada Summer Games (August 2022 - stats can be found in my profile). Recently, I have been selected to participate and compete on behalf of Manitoba at the 2023 NAIG (North American Indigenous Games) box lacrosse in 2023. In addition to box lacrosse, I play on a few female field teams. I captained my high school women’s 6’s team this past spring (2022) where we won the Provincial Championship. I captained my fall club field women’s 6’s team where we won the league championship and finally, I play on a women’s travel field team. I was honored this past year being recognized as the Women’s High School Field League MVP Award, High School Championship MVP Award and was the top scorer in the province for both the high school (27 goals) and club season (55 goals). Outside of lacrosse I am also the captain of my Varsity high school soccer team. I have grown up respecting competitive play and am an extremely coachable athlete. Being a multi-sport athlete has formed a strong base of attributes and skills that I apply day in/out and not just to sport. Some of these attributes and skills would be communication, focus, situational awareness, academic/athletic balance, physicality, and physical conditioning.
My efforts in the classroom are of paramount importance to me! I understand that one day I’ll be too old to play and it’s what I do in the classroom today that will follow with me through the years. My dream is to get the highest level of education possible and play lacrosse while doing so.
I am constantly growing as both a student and an athlete. I look forward to the challenges the next chapter in my life after high school will present and welcome the opportunity to discuss my future further with you.
