My name is Natalee McBride I am a junior in high school and a proud member of both my school team and Storm Club Lacrosse. I started playing lacrosse for Assabet Valley Regional Technical high school freshman year and have been playing for their team ever since. Freshman year I started on the JV team as their center midfielder/draw taker and by the end of the season, I became a swing player (played for both JV and varsity). During the spring season of my Sophomore year, I spent almost all my time playing lacrosse and working. Unlike freshman year I had become a full-on Varsity player and I started to participate in clinics at The Mill Works with Storm Club Lacrosse. I enjoyed increasing my fitness level and improving my stick skills with more individualized training. Not long after that I officially joined Storm Club Lacrosse and in the fall I attended three tournaments. Unfortunately due to COVID19, I have not been able to play the spring season as I usually do but throughout my time in quarantine away from my usual lacrosse routines I have still managed to keep my stick in hand each day by playing wall ball and passing with my Mom. I have thought long and hard about what I want to do and where I want to be once I graduate high school and I just can't imagine not playing lacrosse. It keeps me motivated and happy to wake up in the morning knowing that I’ll be picking up my stick later and playing the sport I love, with the people I love. As an 8th grader in middle school, I faced a decision such as the one I am facing now. The decision was whether I wanted to go to Shrewsbury high school with all my friends or go to Assabet the technical high school. I chose the option that I knew would benefit me most in the years to come. I ended up choosing metal fabrication as my shop because like lacrosse it excites me and I love that I will always have my trade to fall back on. Now I have to decide whether to join the work-force or go to college. I am very excited to find the team and college that are right for me, I hope to bring spirit, hard work, and determination like no other!
