Ever since I picked up a lacrosse stick at 7 I fell in love with the sport. Since my young club team to my current travel team I have always been proven aggressive on and off the field. Throughout the years I always tried to better myself, whether that's learning a new skill or working on something new that will benefit me and my team during games, tournaments and competitions.
During a game I always try to involve myself in the play, once the ball hits the air from the draw circle I'm ready for when they call possession. I use my speed to sprint up the field when going to goal and back down to re-defend in a possible turnover. On the attacking end I create logistical plays, whether that's setting myself, or a teammate, up for a 1v1, or setting up a regular play we might have worked on the day before. When the ball is on the defending end I am right on the restraining line pressuring from behind and getting ready for a turnover. I've been told by coaches during showcases and tournaments that it's not always about skill but the natural grit and determination that I show on the field.
During the Fall season I involve myself in my schools Field Hockey team where I've shown growth in my athletic abilities. I have been awarded as an All-League Field Hockey player, along with my schools 'Coach's Award.' I have been a varsity started since my sophomore year, after being pulled up during my freshman year to play during sectionals. I have just recently been awarded a 'Scholar Athlete' due to my ability to keep up my high honor role grades while playing a high intensity sport.
During school I am involved in many different clubs and activities. I am able to use the skills I learn from these clubs and activities to better myself playing lacrosse. One major school activity I am involved in is NJROTC. Being in NJROTC has taught me not only leadership, but patience and discipline. Along with my NJROTC accomplishments I am currently earning my Gold Stars in Girl Scouts, which I've been involved with since 1st grade. I am very active in my Church's youth group, I alter serve, during the year I occasionally step in as a CCD aid, and during the summer I am a camp counselor for our Church's Bible School. I am also involved with my schools Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. Playing and teaching younger students the tuba, it allows me to stay active and involved in my school and gives me the opportunity to experience playing for major parades and different events. I have also been recently inducted into my schools National Honor Society, where we as a group continue to better our community and get involved with many different community service activities.
I'm hoping in college I am able to study programs that center around criminal justice, this will help me for when I am in the work field I plan on joining a branch of the Federal Bureau. I hold a 93 GPA, where I push myself to take advanced classes such as APEnglishLanguage and APUSHistory.
