My name is Cameron Daciw. I am a junior and will be graduating from Rueben A. Cirillo High School in the year 2024. I began playing youth lacrosse on the boy’s team in the 2nd grade, since, we did not have enough girls in the area that showed interest. I continued with the boys until 4th grade. I then played on both boy’s and girl’s teams for 1 year. Once I entered 5th grade, I was solely playing girls lacrosse. Beginning my career with the boys helped me to show my passion and determination, as well as, strength in the sport. Entering 7thgrade, I was initially on Junior Varsity team and brought up to Varsity for the second half of the season.
I began playing travel lacrosse with Monster Elite lacrosse, which is a local Rochester, NY club and Lake Effect Storm, Syracuse, New York. It has afforded me the opportunity to build relationships with people from other towns and think of them as friends as well as teammates. We have traveled the East Coast, we have also gone as far as to play in Texas, and played some of the top-ranking clubs in the NGLL. I enjoy playing at this level so that I can continue to compete at the highest skill set and keep building my own skills. I play for the thrill of the game and the satisfaction of getting that hard-earned win.
As I enter my Junior year of high school, I am striving to keep my attention focused on my grades and my lacrosse career. I would like to think that my teachers would describe me as a caring, strong and passionate individual that shows across all aspects of my life. I am determined to play lacrosse at the collegiate level and am on my journey to accomplish this goal.
