My love for lacrosse started at 8 years old. I remember back to my very first clinic and loving every part of the game. My clearest memory is watching some of the older girls do stick tricks which resulted in me spending hours working on stick work in my backyard, trying to perfect it. I’ve kept this same determined attitude throughout all of my seven years of playing by continuing to put many hours towards working on my lacrosse skills. Whether it’s practicing driving to the cage, footwork or studying plays/film to increase my lacrosse IQ.
My experience is in playing both midfield and attack which requires me to be a multidimensional player. I’ve learned to remain balanced on defense, to lead my team as a midfielder, and be explosive on attack. Playing so many positions on the field has allowed me to appreciate the team effort that goes into making the whole team successful. This is the main reason I see myself as being a team player. One of the best feelings on the field is when an offense comes together to make a beautiful play or when the defense crashes to prevent a fast break to the cage. Being a team player is what allows me to lead my team successfully. This is also why playing on a college team would further allow me to embrace the idea of community and team. Outside of lacrosse, faith and visual arts are both things that are very important to me. Therefore, I'm looking for a college that allows me to remain involved in both of these areas of my life.
