I am a very dedicated rower and a hard working student. Each year in rowing I have improved my times and have learned the value of hard work and teamwork. It was very exciting to win a silver in the states last spring and to go on to Nationals. I am looking forward to another strong spring season with even better results. At nationals last year I rowed in a double and my teammate and I were the youngest in the final race. We placed 6th. When I rowed in the double at Bill Braxton this fall we cut 23 seconds off our Nationals time. I won two gold medals at Bill Braxton; one in a double
In both the summer and winter off-season, I participate in winter work-outs offered by Row America Rye.
I am interested in physical therapy and personal training. I very much enjoy people, have a lot of patience and like to see people achieve their goals. I am interested in a healthy lifestyle and hope that through physical therapy and personal training I can help people overcome a disability and be in the best shape possible.
Over the past 8 years, I have volunteered with Swim Across America - in their Long Island Sound Swim. This cause raises money in the hopes of curing cancer. Each year, I distribute hundreds of flyers throughout several towns and work on the boats taking swimmers out to the starting point of the race. I have also for the last few years raised money and swam in the Polar Plunge - a winter water event raising money for Special Olympics.
Thank you for taking the time to review my personal statement!
