Hello!
My name is Quinn Yesford and I am a Canadian Rower from St. Catherines, ON Canada. I started rowing 5 years ago in a learn-to-row program. I was apart of this program for two summers and then began high school rowing in grade nine, along with club rowing the summer going into grade 10. I have done non-stop club/school rowing since then. I train daily, typically with club, I am currently about to enter school rowing for my final year of high school.
I have continued with this sport because I believe it brings out the best in me. It gives me a sense of discipline as well as the feeling of being healthy and strong. I love interacting with the crews and creating new amazing friendships along the way. Bonding with the athletes on my team is really important to me. Rowing creates a need to persevere through tough times, when I am in pain during a hard piece, I know that once I finish that pieces I will feel amazing again. The feeling of ending a good practice is such a good feeling that I never want to stop experiencing.
I am determined to continue rowing throughout my post-secondary schooling and to watch how I can learn even more from others. I am excited to meet new faces and make many new friendships.
