Ana Cumming '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ana Cumming, class of 2022. 

I'm a sculler and port rower for the St.Catharines rowing club in Ontario, Canada

When I was first learning about the sport of rowing I never envisioned I would've loved it as much I do now. I have fallen in love with developing and improving myself, and being in this kind of atmosphere. Throughout my years as a rower, I have known to be extremely determined, hardworking, and dedicated. I am always super eager to get out on the water and improve myself.  I enjoy receiving constructive criticism and advice from coaches and my peers. I have been engaged with the sport of rowing since 2016 and I am determined to continue into college. Since beginning in 2016, I have grown and learned such a great amount from individuals around me. Aside from rowing, I additionally partake in numerous different sports that improve my fitness and mindset, which I believe are extremely important. These include skiing, snowboarding, as well as gymnastics, and swimming. Excelling in my academics and athletics is extremely important to me and I'm hopeful to have the opportunity to continue with that throughout my post-secondary schooling. Aside from my athletics, I participate in multiple volunteering opportunities and fundraisers that allow me to connect with my community as well as make a difference in the world. I believe that I often push myself beyond my limits and am determined to create my personal best every time I am out on the water, in the gym, or in class. I would love to have the opportunity to pursue rowing at a level where I am able to represent the country and support my team.
