Personal Statement

I have dreamed of playing division 1 soccer since I started playing soccer at 3 years old. I am known on my team for my strength on the ball as well as my technical ability and vision on the field.

Sofia was the youngest selected and made the final cut even though she was only going into grade 10. She will be considered for the next three years until she decides where she wishes to attend university. April 2017 accepted into St. Francis Xavier High school Soccer Academy for high school for the next three years 2017-2020 when she will graduate. March 2017 selected to represent FC Barcelona Canada in Barcelona Spain October 2016 selected to represent FC Barcelona Edmonton for the FC Barcelona Canadian Tournament in Vancouver, October 2016 October 2015 invited back to Alberta Soccer Association Provincial team to train and play matches for Alberta. Sofia played center midfield March 2015 to present starter on Sherwood Park Phoenix 2002 girls soccer team. This top tier team finished second overall in the 2017 outdoor season and first overall in 2016/17 indoor season. The team competes regularly in the provincial championships and will compete again in August 2017. The team competes regularly in tournaments. Sofia plays holding or attacking midfield or center forward during all their games. April 2015 to present starter on FC Barcelona Edmonton Soccer Academy u16 mixed team. Sofia plays attacking or holding midfield on this team.

She played underage until she was 12 years old with this club. Sofia was frequently invited to the South West United u14 team for matches and tournaments both within Alberta and outside of the province. She left this team for the Phoenix Girls 2002 team in March 2015.

Sofia played center midfield and was one of the youngest girls selected for the girls soccer team. They won the silver medal.
