I started playing soccer when I was 10 years old. Despite being told constantly that I would never catch up to girls who had been playing longer than I had, I did not let this deter me. In a year I joined my first club team and, in two years, I became captain of another club team. I learned how to effectively collaborate and how to build healthy relationships with my teammates. As a captain, I cultivated skills such as how to speak up and to be a positive and encouraging figure. Being a captain at such a young age allowed me to understand the responsibilities of being a leader and since then I have either been captain or a figure of leadership and encouragement on every other team I’ve been a part of. In addition, I've won numerous awards such as gaining the coaches award from a SURF club team to obtaining offensive MVP on my high school team 2 years in a row.
I pride myself for the perseverance I display through everything I do, including my academics. I personally want to double major in psychology and screenwriting. My dream is to be a screenwriter for a well known company such as Disney or Cartoon Network, but I am also extremely interested in psychology and potentially helping teens my age navigate depression, PTSD, DID, and anxiety. I find that I connect with my coaches easily and am open to any critiques you have as well as being a bright and energetic asset to the team. With my goal to play soccer along with my academic goals I feel as if I will impact the team and the college I attend positively!
