I have always told myself I wanted to accomplish great things through soccer. To this day nothing has come between myself and my desire to play the game at the highest level. In school, I am extremely engaged in all of the classes that I take, however I have a keen sense towards the math and sciences. Freshman year I was placed into the non-honors level math course and completed the year with the dissatisfaction that I could push myself harder. When talking with my Geometry teacher about petitioning to go into the honors course for next year, we made a list of goals for me to accomplish before entering the higher course. One being to consistently advocate for myself when I felt I needed a challenge and working with my teacher to do extra in the class. By the end of they year I had worked so hard to complete my goals and ended up successfully petitioning into Algebra 2 honors for this year, as a sophomore. Other than math, I have found an outlet in Chemistry this year. I have drawn many connections between my math class and the scientific calculations we do in science. I often found myself asking my teacher questions that go beyond the curriculum and always eager to want to learn more, especially on the labs when there is existential amount of research that can be done.
On the pitch, I have continually worked hard to improve my technical game, but have found my greatest challenge to be myself. After being placed on the B team and not being satisfied with the clubs decision, I switched clubs to Marin FC. Before my switch to Marin FC, I spent the first half of my freshman year with SF Elite Academy. By the time High School season came around, I knew I was ready to continue my soccer at the next level and I knew I needed to get off that team. Being coached by Josh Kalkstein at Marin Academy, we had several conversations about how to get involved with Marin FC. The spring of freshman year, I was in continual contact with the coaches at FC and got involved in practices and some games with the new team. I trained almost everyday of the week between teams, all because of desire to be on the best of the best. After making the team in May, I have just now completed the fall season with this team, allowing 2 goals in 13 games played in NPL Champions league. Also after I made this team, I decided I wanted to keep pushing myself, so I went out for the ODP team and made it. Being selected for the State ODP team has made me work even harder, as I am surrounded by people who all play at the highest levels. As I begin the college recruiting search, I have learned that although it may not be a clear, straight path without setbacks, I will always maintain my perseverance and desire to play at the highest level I can.
