Abby Newman '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abby Newman and I am determined to play college soccer at an academically competitive school. I am a senior at Lauralton Hall in Milford, Connecticut. A quick defender with strong foot skills, I excel most at containing opposing players, dispossessing them, and establishing an effective counter-attack, either by retaining possession and carrying forward, or delivering accurate long passes. I also enjoy ranging deep into the corners to send in crosses and driven balls across goal. I am right-footed, but strong with my left, and I am a confident penalty shooter.

I love playing on a team and supporting my teammates, and believe closeness off the field translates to success on it. I also believe in pushing myself, academically and physically.

During my high school career, I was a four-year varsity starter. I am a regular starter for my club team, which has finished second in Connecticut the last two seasons. I will graduate high school this spring.
