Isabelle Katz '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Isabelle, though most call me Isa, and I am a 17-year-old junior. I have been playing soccer since my older brother inspired me to join Little Kickers with him when I was 2. While I began my soccer journey on the defensive line, recently my coaches have taken note of my offensive potential and have been playing me higher up the field. I used to utilize my speed and aggressiveness to run down opposing players and repossess the ball as an Outside Back, but now I have combined those characteristics with my strong leg and field vision to become an offensive threat as a Forward.  

In addition to my versatility on the field, I am also very vocal, serving as a leader for my team. This occurs off the field as well.  Before my previous dojo shut down during Covid, I was an assistant instructor there for our “Little Ninjas”. Furthermore, I am proud of my unwavering commitment to my team. Even if injured, I show up to every practice and game to support my teammates and further my development, while also contributing what I can from the sidelines. 

An additional important personality trait of mine is that I don’t shy away from challenges. Because of this, I have played on boys' travel soccer teams and beat out three other kickers to win the starting kicker position on the boys' varsity football team at my school. Additionally, I used this drive to test into the #4 public highschool in the nation. This makes me a good fit for a college that has the most selective academics and a competitive soccer program as I already balance my advanced coursework with my participation in multiple sports.
