Dreams come true if you set good goals for yourself and work to achieve them. I have been working all of my life to have an opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level. My family is very close and my parents always wanted the best for me, and instilled in me that I must work hard to achieve, but even harder if I want to be remembered. Through all of the training, early and late workouts, my time to prepare for college is NOW! I am ready and I am battle tested for whatever challenges come my way. I am in search of a college home, where the campus, the students, staff, and program, feels as though I have known them my entire life.
I have always been a person that was always wanting to learn and no matter what awards I won, or my teams won, I always strived for improvement. I always ask questions, I put in extra work, and I let my work ethic and positivity speak for who I am, and that welcomes others to wish to join me, and we establish a great culture together. I have been blessed to have started varsity for my home school, Southeast High School, in Springfield, IL, since I was a freshman, and through all of the ups and downs, and eventually a new co-operative with another rival school, I never stopped trying to be the leader of the program. With my leadership, the co-operative came pretty seamlessly, and we are striving to be a respected program in our conference and state.
I plan to continue to participate in my club team with the Springfield Area Soccer Association, where I have been since I was in the sixth grade. We built a winning culture through putting in hard work and our determination has led us to contend for tournament championships. These combined experiences will enable me to gel with other star players in college and maintain an outstanding culture being great people who achieve in the classroom, in our school community, and on the field.
Also, to help prepare me for my life in college, I enrolled in the Health and Science Academy, which is a college preparatory academy within my high school, where I took all advanced coursework, such as honors and advance placement. I worked very hard to maintain great grades and have always been number five or eight in my school class. I have been Central State Eight Conference-All Academic Team every year since entering high school, and most recently have been inducted into the National Honor Society.
With my family's support and my preparation thus far, I believe that I am ready to pursue my dream of being an academic-athlete in college. My journey is unique and will be beneficial to a collegiate program who are interested in a mature in-coming freshman, that can contribute immediately. Being on varsity for all three years, I feel has prepared me for what is to come. I pray each night that my college home calls me and welcomes me with open arms, because I am ready to prove myself in either a rebuilding program or established winning program. Either way, I am prepared for success on and off the field.
