Natalie McLaughlin '22 Recruiting Profile

I began swimming in 2016, fell in love with the sport and since then have aspired to swim at the collegiate level. I began competing with a club team just as it was building from the ground up. This has allowed me to be flexible with my training as things have continued to change as the team has grown. 

I work hard to ensure I am not swimming mindlessly and actually thinking about improving every aspect of my swimming. I have grown up on a team that preaches leadership and involvement which has allowed me the privilege to be a Youth Coach and coach many younger groups. I have not only coached but taught swim lessons as well. Coaching and teaching have allowed me to improve my own stroke and I hope to continue to mentor younger swimmers in some way.  At the collegiate level, I hope to not only see time drops but to continue being involved in the   atmosphere and being part of a swim family.

My work ethic in the classroom is just as strong as in the pool. I have a 5.875 GPA on a weighted 4.0 scale, am 2nd in my class and enrolled in many AP and honors classes. I am involved academically in several clubs and arts activities and strive to be on top.
