Ever since I was a little kid, I always had an enormous heart for soccer. I can remember kicking a ball around thinking it was nothing, but 15 years later it's all that I would do for the rest of my life. I can look back to one game where my coach was asking for a goalkeeper because that day our goalkeeper was sick. I was just 8 at the time and said to myself: why not try it out, what could go wrong? I can remember feeling like I have found my spot in soccer just after a couple of games playing in goal. I started getting more and more comfortable with the position. I started going into camps and learning more about the position, learning about my angles, and where to stand in goal depending on where the ball is. I then learned that the goalkeeper is like the quarterback in soccer, the one with the eyes on the field and always talking to their team to help them when needed. When I was 12, I just couldn't get myself to speak to my team in such a loud manner, but over the years I can finally say that I am now known for my loudness on the field. I feel like I'm a fit candidate for your team because I know my position; I know the game; I'm not afraid to talk to my team during a game, as I know what I expect from my team. I'm different from other recruits because when I am expected to do something whether it be soccer-related or school-related, I always put my mind to it and try to fulfill it to the best of my abilities.
Additionally, I have academic inspiration, since I was a child my parents taught me the way of life. I can remember my parents teaching me to always help anyone or anything, whether it was an animal or a human. I grew up in a household where I was always around pets, and I learned how to tend to their needs and care for them. I have a natural talent for working with animals and I hope to continue my work in caring for animals in my future.
