I was 8 years old when I played soccer for the first time and other than the occasional kicking a ball around at recess, I had no experience. No one could have told me, after 7 years, the soccer field would be where I felt at home the most. Since then I have traveled halfway across the globe and tried over five different sports, none of them providing the satisfaction that soccer did for me all those years ago. Being a military child and moving every three years has proven to be a challenge and while being known as the new kid is not ideal, it has provided me the opportunity to focus more academically and hone my soccer skill set. I am well known for my commitment to both my team and my grades. I am a fast learner which has rapidly increased my soccer IQ and my coachability allows feedback to flow freely. Academically, throughout high school I will strive to maintain my current GPA of 4.1 or higher. In college I will major in Psychology and minor in Spanish. Soccer has taught me that there is a balance between academics and athletics. As I began to develop as a soccer player, my game became a source of confidence, positivity, and determination. Each of these traits I have been able channel into my everyday life.
