I started playing soccer when I was in kindergarten and it seemed I had the natural ability to kick the ball and a knack for finding the back of the net. Although my talents as a young child were not the best, my skills grew as I played with my younger brothers in our backyard where I developed a competitiveness that I still carry with me today.
My athleticism stemmed from 12 years of gymnastics including the 6 years I spent at the junior Olympic level practicing 20 hours a week. Today, I am a three-sport athlete who competes in both high school and club diving, track, athletic performance training, as well as club and high school soccer. While I enjoy continuing to challenge myself with other sports, soccer has continued to be my passion.
Being a leader has always been important to me both on and off the field no matter the environment where I aspire to be the best person I can be, inspiring others along the way. I have worked hard for everything I have attained with my consistent determination and grit. In the classroom, my competitiveness is further displayed through my constant need to do everything with maximal effort and my inability to give up until I get it perfect. I have been able to maintain a high GPA with my consistent study habits helping me achieve honor roll my freshman year and induction to the Spanish National Honors society my sophomore year.
I am looking to attend a school where I can not only further my knowledge and skills on the field but also in the classroom. I hope to attend a school with both elite academics and soccer while continuing to be a role model for my peers along the way.
