Some of my earliest memories are of playing soccer. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to play soccer for my entire life. I would dream about playing in college and maybe even on a professional team someday. Most of all I would dream about playing in the world cup! I love when coaches teach me new moves or new runs to make or even just how to do something quicker or better. Most of all, I loving being part of a team. The atmosphere is one that can never be replicated by anything else. Once I am part of a team they all feel like family to me and I would do anything for them. I always try to be a leader on the team and someone that my teammates look up to. I believe you lead by example, which is why I try to work harder than everyone else and hold myself accountable for my mistakes. One thing that I know is that you are not guaranteed anything in life, so that means every time you step on the field you have to try your hardest and work your tail off. I had emergency surgery once and it kept me out of soccer for a month or two, and in that time, I realized that you are not always going to be able to play soccer. From then on, every time I stepped on the field I gave it my all and worked hard for my teammates and the people around me. One of my coaches said to make it your goal every game to beat the person you are playing against, now that is what I do every time I play.
As I have gotten older I've become more interested in human anatomy and the medical profession. In college I want to study pre-med so that I can become a doctor and maybe even a surgeon. I find the human body and how it works to be so intriguing. I love helping people feel better. My father always teases me that anytime someone is hurt on the field, I am always the first one there. I am very excited to start the next chapter of my life. Both playing soccer and studying to become a doctor will be a big part of that journey.
