My name is Karissa Champion and I am a 2023 graduate from Campbell-Savona Junior/Senior High School in Campbell New York. Soccer has been the biggest life changer for me as a person as an athlete. I have played soccer since I was three years old and it became a big challenge for me as I grew older because I had gained a lot of weight as a kid. I decided that I needed to make a change in order to reach a higher potential. After I lost the weight, I was able to improve my game tremendously by completing tasks that weren't as easy or possible as before.
Campbell is a very small town, so we had very small teams. I was put on a varsity level team in the off-season just for the experience in sixth grade. Though we haven't won any big games or tournaments, I really developed my skills and grew as a person throughout the tough games and setbacks. I'm really looking forward to the next level of soccer and I want to join a program that will continue to help me grow as an athlete an as a person. I believe I have the dedication and work ethic to bring to the college level. As a 4-time team captain, 3-time sportsmanship award winner, and two-sport athlete, I know that I have what it takes to make an impact on your team.
