My name is Holly DiPalo and I have a passion for playing soccer. I started playing soccer at age 3. Even as a youngster I stood out from my peers for my agility, determination and size. I am the right candidate for your team because I am a skilled, strong goalkeeper and have a powerful presence on the field. My communication skills are excellent. Coaches, players, spectators and opposing teams often remark because I am able to lead my team and focus on plays. I have the talent to create opportunities for my team. My powerful voice has been an asset. I am a reliable teammate and a consistent player. I love my teammates and respect my coach. These attributes shape who I am as a person and that sets me apart from other athletes.
I have always been a leader in athletics. I received a very special scholar-athlete award at the end of middle school. The Billy Garfield Memorial Award is given annually to one boy and girl. The recipient is recommended by all of the coaches for being a team leader. This was a huge honor. This award is the highest award given out. In addition, I was one of 6 students that received the “eight sport award”. I played sports almost every day in middle school and I maintained a 95 average in all my Honors classes.
I am attending Sanford H. Calhoun High School as a junior, graduating class of 2022. I have set many goals for this year despite the changes this year has brought. I want to have a successful high school and club soccer season. Hopefully bringing my school team to playoffs and helping my club team achieve a national title. I hope that we have a normal club season so my team can continue to grow to achieve the end goal of nationals. I have been working hard in and off the field. I am enrolled in all honors classes and 4 AP classes. I am a focused student and will continue to keep my GPA at 95 or above.
In the future I would like to achieve admission to a highly competitive college or university; and play collegiate Division I level soccer. My plan is to study business and finance; math is my favorite subject. I would like to be considered for a sports and academic scholarship. I truly believe I am the right student athlete to fulfill these goals in the near future.
