My name is Madison Olson. I am currently a junior at Corning-Painted Post High School. Since I was five years old, I played soccer, where I learned to love the sport and the people to bring me where I am now. I started playing for Soaring Capital Soccer Club in 2019. I was also on my high school's varsity team freshman year and was a starter my sophomore year. However, during my sophomore year, I tore my meniscus and ACL during a soccer game. Nearing my one year recovery during a soccer practice in March 2022, I reinjured my ACL graft. I had another full ACL reconstruction surgery in May 2022. Because of these injuries through nonstop physical therapy and mentally persevering, I am working to be a better version of myself. Besides soccer, I have also been running track and field since seventh grade. My main events are 200m, 300m, 400m, 600m, and I am also a long jumper. During my freshman year, I was an alternate for states in the 4x400m relay.
I have participated in drama club, student council, and class council outside of sports. I've also had the opportunity to experience many volunteering opportunities for the Wineglass Marathon and Make-A-Wish Foundation. I had a few summer jobs as well. I worked at the golf pro-shop at the Corning Country Club, babysitting and pet sitting.
For my future, I plan to major in biology and minor in business. I am currently taking (3) International Baccalaureate(IB) courses in which all three are two-year higher-level courses. I always strive to look for a challenge, and I'm always willing to take advice from others, learn from mistakes, and improve from them.
