For as long as I can remember, soccer has been a huge part of my life. From the moment my parents first signed me up for my town's recreational league when I was 2 it was love at first sight. I instantly fell in love with the game and it quickly became something that I felt defined me. As I got older and my skills improved I started playing for my town's travel team. Because of my late birthday, I was forced to play a year up with girls who were a year or more older than me, and a lot bigger physically. I think that this helped me to excel as a player as I was used to playing with bigger and stronger girls. All throughout elementary school, I would set up early morning pickup games before school that I would gather all of my friends to come to. In sixth grade, I decided that I wanted to play at a higher level and intensity and signed up for my first club soccer team, New York Soccer Club where I played two years up. I now play on the NYSC 2006 GA team. For highschool soccer, my freshman year, I tried out for the varsity team at my school for the first time, and was 1 of the two people to make the team-- and the only freshman. I was the leading scorer and received all league honors as well as a lohud player of the week nominee. This year, during my sophomore season I was also the leading scorer and received all section, all league, and all county honors. Throughout my soccer career so far, my coaches have described me as being a great leader, very outgoing, very committed and focused, and good at picking up the rest of my team. I take great pride in these qualities and strive to be the best teammate I can be. My goal is to continue my soccer career at a school that allows me to continue to pursue my academic as well as soccer career at the highest level that I can.
