Sophia Svec '24 Recruiting Profile

I thought when I joined soccer in 8th grade I was completely behind everyone that had been playing for years. I wasn’t wrong but that made me want to work 10x harder so I could be on the same level. My coaches asked the first day of practice if anyone would be interested in being the goalie, we all kind of just looked at each other and then back at our coaches and then I decided to raise my hand because why not! I never thought I would fall completely in love with a sport and position like I have but I really have. I try my absolute best to be a leader on and off the field- pick my teammates up when we are down, and just be an easy person to work with. I am a very coachable athlete and take criticism and feedback very well and use it as a tool to make myself better.
