My name is Nora Serrao and during a preseason game of my sophomore year I tore my meniscus. No, this is not a sob story, it is a story of character and hard work. Everyday of the season I would go to practices or games and sit on the bench and support my teammates because that’s what a team player does. Twice a week I would go to physical therapy and work my tail off because that’s the type of person I am, I always want to improve. I kept my grades up, I kept working and pushing and keeping my head high so that the next season I could stand with my teammates instead of behind them. I am the type of player who always wants to grow and learn from experience and others and will work my hardest to do so. Soccer is important to me, as well as my academics and my life outside of school. I would like to find a college that provides a balance of all three. These, I believe, are the keys to being successful in school and in life. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
