*UPDATE* - Hello All,
I have been accepted and will be attending The Citadel Military College this fall. While they were unable to offer me a roster spot for the soccer team, I wanted to personally thank NCSA for their help with getting recruited. I had many wonderful schools reach out, including The Citadel where I attended a camp last June (2021). It was at this camp that I fell in love with The Citadel and knew that with our without soccer I would head to South Carolina. While my soccer career will come to a conclusion in a month's time, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn and grow as an athlete and young woman through sports.
Best wishes to all the coaches recruiting for your programs!
- Respectfully,
Allie Morse; Class of 2022 Goalkeeper.
Hello, my name is Alathea (Allie) Morse, and I am a senior attending Freedom Christian Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I am sixteen years old, and I play varsity soccer for my high school. I have played soccer in middle school for three consecutive years, earning the MVP award in 8th grade, and I have been a varsity player since 9th grade. In middle school, I was named captain and best defensive player, and in my freshman year, I received the Best Defensive Player and All-Conference Goal Keeping awards. My sophomore season was canceled due to COVID. However my junior year I was named 1st team All-Conference, and runner up for conference player of the year. I was also named as my team's MVP.
I have played two years of travel soccer for Liberty Point Soccer Club as the starting goalkeeper on the 16U team and as a backup/starting keeper on the 19U team. I am transitioning to Fayetteville Soccer Club for their 19U team beginning play in the Fall of 2021.
I give 110% as a student, and I currently carry a GPA of 4.36 and am ranked 3rd overall. I take all honors and AP classes, available. I am also dual-enrolled with Fayetteville Technical Community College, and hope to have 15 college credit hours upon graduating high school. I have decided to pursue a career as an attorney and hope to concentrate my studies on constitutional law.
In 7th grade I was nominated for the Duke TIP program as a result of my Terra-Nova standardized testing scores, and I took the ACT for the first time the same year. I have taken the SAT and the ACT two other times, and I scored a 980 on the SAT as a freshman, and a 24 on my second attempt of my ACT. As a result of these scores, I have received invitations to Harvard Medical and Stanford Law camps to explore these fields of study. I will continue to take the ACT as my education expands my knowledge base.
Though soccer is my best and most interesting sport for me, I play two other sports on a Varsity level. I was blessed to help lead our volleyball team to an appearance in the NCISAA 2A state semifinals as well as capturing our 4th consecutive conference title. In 10th grade, I had the honor of being double-rostered on varsity volleyball, playing as a starting right-side hitter on the defending State Champion team. In the last year of middle school, I was double rostered on our Varsity basketball team as well. In the following year, I received the Most Improved award, and I continue to play varsity basketball as a starting center, being named captain for my junior season.
Outside of the classroom and my various athletics, I have also played the clarinet for six years, climbing the ranks to Concert Band in which I am the first chair clarinet and Concert Master. I have participated in three ACSAI competitions with my band, earning an Excellent and Superior, and we have played in the annual Busch Gardens Fine Arts Festival in Virginia for two years, earning the title of Excellent both times.
I would love the opportunity to play soccer at the next level because the teammates that I play with deserve a fantastic goal keeper, and I love being the unstoppable force that is the brick wall and the last line of defense. I want my teammates and coaches to trust that their keeper will stop that one-on-one or the onslaught of two or three shots on goal. It takes a very special person to be a goal keeper, and I am that person.
