My name is Abi Wilson, and I am a 2023 Junior at Metrolina Christian Academy. I have played soccer for Charlotte Soccer Academy since I was six years old. Before I started playing with this club, I began my soccer career playing with a few other five-year-olds under the guidance and teachings of my amazing dad. Although he only coached me for a small portion of my life, he sparked my interest in the sport. Family is a huge part of who I am, and without the support and encouragement from my parents, I never would have been able to play at this level while also enjoying the game.
Playing competitively as I have for so many years, I have learned so much and grown not only as an athlete but as a person as well. It can be extremely difficult sometimes to manage academics and athletics, especially when we travel so frequently. This constant busyness has helped me learn how to be flexible in my schedule. I have learned how to manage my time, and it has helped me succeed in all honors classes and my soccer life. I believe I would be able to play at the collegiate level because of all I have learned throughout the years. I will be willing to balance my academics and my athletics while thriving in both areas.
