Danae Lagos '21 Recruiting Profile

I moved away from my family in Chile to NC my freshman year and without knowing any English I knew that as long as I had soccer in my life I was going to be fine. Soccer is my only happiness and I have always been so scared of not knowing when it's going to be the last day that I play. I left everything behind and I moved here for better opportunities for my soccer career so my biggest goal right now is to play soccer in college.

I am a three sport varsity athlete and I have always been naturally good at any sport, but the one that I'm passionate about has always been soccer. I played these three sports (swimming, cross country and soccer) through high school just to stay in shape for whenever my soccer season arrives. I am a natural leader and I have been captain of many teams throughout my life. I was once the captain of an all boys team and in most of the teams that I have been I always kept the record of scoring the most goals.

I am always encouraging my teammates with my winning and positive mentality. That is one of my favorite qualities of myself, how positive and how caring I am with the people that surround me. I will always make sure to help them be the best version of themselves and stay positive through hard times.
