All my life I've been playing soccer, but I didn't fully appreciate the sport until the summer before high school. All of a sudden, something clicked and I developed a true passion for the sport. That summer, I practiced hour after hour every day and since then I think there's rarely been a day where I haven't been messing with the ball. I don't come from a place where winning is generally easy, but I think that's what sets me apart. I don't need to win to have motivation to play and get better. I play because soccer has brought a light to my life and I want to bring a light to the game. I love to add an element of excitement to the game when I play; that is my consistency. I like to think that I always get something done, even if it isn't always the same thing. There's more to soccer than the hardcore consistency and record of the team. The unexpected miracles are what I search for and love about playing soccer. That being said, I have several accomplishments in the sport. Before I came into high school, my team did not win at all, really. As soon as I got up there, we started winning and made it into the playoffs. Everyone thought we would lose the first game, but then I assisted the winning goal and we moved on to round two! Whenever I play, several people are on me, giving the rest of the team room to move and work. I played my first season of club soccer ever this year, and was top scorer on my team. The significance of this is my improvement since the beginning of high school. I used to have a hard time scoring, but practice made perfect for me. I will keep practicing just as hard and harder because I know I have a late start compared to most girls.
