Erica Brelove '23 Recruiting Profile

I consider myself an athlete as well as a scholar. Maintaining high grades is especially important to me. I strive to do the best I can in all aspects of my work. Setting this standard for myself allows me to stay eligible on the field, set a good example as a leader and be there for my team.

I am a true athlete and enjoy playing any sport. In middle school I played volleyball, basketball and participated in track/field, while still playing club soccer. In 8th grade I was named Basketball Defensive Player of the Year and Track Distance Runner of the Year. I enjoyed playing multiple sports, but soccer is my passion.

Soccer has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing recreational soccer at age 4 then joined academy at age 8, where I played all positions on the field. Since going select at age 10, I continued to play several positions: sweeper, center back, outside back, outside midfielder and forward. My primary position now is center back.

In my first year of high school, as a freshman, I started on varsity as a center back. Being one of the only 2 freshmen on the team was a great honor for me. I have continued to start as center back on my high school team. I was named defensive player of the year in both my sophomore and junior year.   I made 2nd team all-district my freshman and sophomore years and 1st team all-district in my junior year.

I became one of the captains of my club team in 2020 and my high school team my junior year. I know that as a captain I must lead my team in all aspects of the game. I live for and expect success. I believe it is extremely important that you always play the best game that you can play no matter what the circumstance. Given the opportunity, I would love to continue toward my goal of achieving excellence in both the classroom and on the soccer field.
