My name is Olivia Isakson and I am in the 11th grade. I play attacking midfield mainly and also center forward. In 2019, in 46 games I’ve had 27 goals and 20 assists with Washington Rush, high school and Washington State EPD. My club team, Rush, won the Washington State cup, advancing to Regionals in Boise, ID. We have qualified for the Nationals Showcase in North Carolina in late November. In 2018, I scored 35 goals and had 17 assists in 60 games between my Washington Rush 02 club team, high school and guest playing with Washington Rush 00 at the Nationals Showcase in North Carolina in December.
This summer, my club team has played in the Crossfire Challenge, Surf Cup and Rush Cup.
I was playing at the ODP Region IV Championships in Phoenix, Arizona January 4-7, 2019. I was playing with Team Washington (Washington EPD) and coach Arby Busey from Seattle Pacific University. From that tournament, I was invited to attend the Region IV ODP ID Camp July 3-7, 2019 in Oregon, which I recently got home from.
I live about an hour north of Seattle, Washington in Skagit County. I have kept a 4.0 GPA through my freshman and sophomore year and currently I am considering a degree in a medical field when I attend college. I would love to become a doctor and perform surgeries on sick and hurting people. My interest in this becomes greater with every science class I take and every episode of Grey's Anatomy I watch (even if that show might not be super realistic).
I have had an exciting and busy last three years of soccer with opportunities to play with several teams (Rush 02, Washington EPD, Rush National Select, Seattle Reign Academy, Surf Academy and my high school).
I am in my third year with Washington Rush 02 and coach Kevin Sakuda. I am excited to improve as a player from his experience. In addition to winning State Cup in 2019, I have played in the Surf Cup, Las Vegas Showcase, Far West Regionals, Pleasanton Rage Showcase, Crossfire Challenge, and regionals in Boise in 2019. I love playing soccer and have been working hard on my game. I have been fortunate to play for some amazing coaches who have played and coached at a high level. My past club coach (Northwest United, Kristian Powell) tells me that several strengths are my understanding of the game, speed and competitiveness. I can score or pass with either foot with power. I enjoy making a great pass setting up a teammate or using my head to score a goal.
In July 2017 we won the SURF CUP in San Diego with my PSPL Surf Academy team. I played 3 years with this team that has girls from around Washington State. In late June/July of 2017 I played in the Donosti Cup in San Sebastian, Spain with my previous club team Northwest United that I played with for 5 years. It was so fun to play with my old teammates and play teams from Barcelona, Sweden, France and several Basque teams in Spanish stadiums. In April, May and June of 2017 I played 4 games with the Seattle Reign Academy ECNL team. I started guest playing with them after Coach Reynolds coached against me with my previous club, Northwest United. I had my first goal with the Reign with my head off a corner. It was a great experience to train and play with Coach Reynolds.
My goal is to be able to attend a great school and play competitive soccer. My dad is an elementary school principal and my mom is a high school secretary, which has really made me understand how important good grades are. They push me to get all A's and that is my goal for all of high school. While my parents both played college basketball, I really love soccer and would hate for my journey to end after high school. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, I hope to have an opportunity to see me play in the future and consider me for your team and school.
