I live in Homer, Alaska, which is a beautiful town of about 5,000 residents. I have swum for Kachemak Swim Club since age 5. It’s a great little club, and it’s part of my identity. But it’s little. While I am proud of my times, we have a small senior team, and I am looking forward to swimming in college in part because I think I can go much faster with more coaching and a larger cohort of competitive training partners. I think both my current and previous coach would agree.
I am excited to be part of a college team that embraces hard work, supports each other in achieving team and individual goals both in and out of the pool, and hopefully has some fun in the process!
I have earned straight A’s in challenging coursework while training 7-8 times per week year round, and I am confident that I can continue my success as a student athlete in college.
I have enjoyed teaching children swim lessons, and that experience has helped me decide to pursue elementary education to become a teacher. I am also interested in coaching swimming in the future.
I have dedicated my life to swimming. The opportunity to contribute to a college team at a conference championship, and hopefully at the NCAA championships, would fulfill a lifelong dream.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at me.
