My college dream is to experience a full academic and athletic life as a member of a team that strives for excellence, whether in the classroom, in the community, or in the pool. I want to grow as a swimmer, as a student, and as a person. Today, I realize that swimming is more than the length of the pool. Swimming has taught me confidence, perseverance, resilience, and goal-setting -- all lessons that I have applied to other areas of my life, including academics. Since first jumping into the pool , I have learned sportsmanship, hard work, and focus. I have also learned that mentoring and guidance from experienced coaches, connecting with teammates, feeling and feeding team spirit, and strengthening my personal grit can make the difference in realizing success in the pool and in life. Looking towards my future, swimming competitively at a great college is my goal.
