12 months. I was 12 months into high school when I decided to swim year round. 12 months later I had dropped 11 seconds off my 100 free (SCY) time and was only .76 of a second from making states in the 50 fly (LCM). That was when I decided I was going to swim in college. To accomplish my goal I know its going to take the right mindset, and a ton of grit.
Swimming reinforces what I am learning in my leadership program at school. The discipline it has taught me is critical for managing training, school, and running a business. When I started my own business a year ago giving swimming lessons it was hard. I had to Learn how to market myself, how to price my service, and how to manage the logistics of training, being an assistant swim coach on my summer team, and giving private lessons. But joining an elite swim team when I was 15 years old was also hard.
Succeeding in swimming has helped me realize that I can accomplish my goals in life. I want to be a teacher so I can help teach kids that with the right mindset and a ton of work they too can succeed in life! I’m ready to bring my leadership skills, and my three word motto to a college team...Suck it Up!

- Activities- Founded a business giving swim lessons in 2017 - gave 75+ lessons during the summer in 2018 - Assistant coach for Milton Mustangs Swim Team (2018) - Jr. Coach for Milton Mustangs Swim Team (2017) - Certified Lifeguard - worked as life guard for 2 pool management companies (2017-2018) - Selected (2 years ago) to join an intense 4 year Leadership program. - As a part of this program I was selected to lead a team as a junior that historically was a position only offered to seniors. - Mentor 9th and 10th grade students involved with the Leadership Program - For 5 years (2014-2018) I volunteered my time at church as a member of the youth drama program. We perform skits each week for the 1st - 5th grade classes. - Teachers Assistant for High-school American Sign Language (ASL 1&2 ) classes - Tutor for students in ASL 1 & 2 classes - ASL music translator at my Church (I help translate songs during the worship service)
